Discover Vitthal Kamat's

Vitthal Kamat's in Yavat, Maharashtra, located on National Highway No. 9, is a beloved spot for anyone traveling through this bustling route. Whether you're heading to the city or taking a break during a long journey, this restaurant serves as a perfect pit stop, offering comfort, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the area, the experience at Vitthal Kamat's is one you don't want to miss.

As you pull into the parking lot, you're greeted by a quaint, rustic exterior that hints at the traditional vibe inside. The ambiance at Vitthal Kamat's is simple but warm, with a spacious dining area perfect for groups and families. There’s something about the place that feels homely - from the familiar scent of spices wafting through the air to the smiling faces of the staff who are quick to make you feel comfortable.

The menu at Vitthal Kamat's is a delightful exploration of local Maharashtrian cuisine, with a variety of options to choose from. From crispy vada pav to mouthwatering misal pav, there's a little something for every taste bud. The best part? The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with ingredients that highlight the local farming community's best produce. You can even taste the care and tradition that goes into every dish. It's not just a restaurant; it's a place that brings a piece of Maharashtra's culinary heritage right to your table.

For starters, I recommend trying their signature vada pav, which is always a crowd favorite. The pav (bread) is soft and buttery, and the crispy vada (fried potato fritter) is perfectly seasoned. If you're craving something spicy, the misal pav is a must-try. This dish comes with a tangy and spicy curry served with fresh pav, topped with crunchy farsan. The balance of flavors is spot on, offering a nice kick without overwhelming your palate.

One of the highlights of dining at Vitthal Kamat's is the quality of the food and the warmth of the service. The staff makes sure that you have everything you need, whether it's a refill of your favorite drink or a special request. It’s clear that the restaurant takes pride in providing a memorable experience for each guest. Their quick service makes it easy for you to enjoy your meal, even if you're in a hurry. The relaxed yet efficient approach is definitely part of the reason why so many people choose this spot over other options along the highway.

If you’re in the mood for a more filling meal, there are plenty of options to choose from, including thalis (traditional platters) that offer a variety of tastes in one meal. The thali at Vitthal Kamat's is an excellent representation of the diverse flavors found in Maharashtrian cooking - from the rich, creamy dal to the tangy chutneys that are perfect for dipping. The thali is also a great way to experience the full spectrum of flavors that this cuisine has to offer.

Vegetarian or non-vegetarian, Vitthal Kamat’s caters to everyone. For non-vegetarian lovers, dishes like the chicken curry or mutton kolhapuri provide a burst of flavor that complements the spice profiles of Maharashtra's cuisine. The meat is tender, and the curries are rich and aromatic, making it a fantastic option for those who love a hearty, flavorful meal.

Vitthal Kamat's isn't just about the food though; it’s about the overall experience. After you’ve had your fill, you can sit back and relax in the cozy dining area. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, the restaurant offers a casual, friendly environment that’s perfect for unwinding and enjoying great food.

The location of Vitthal Kamat's on National Highway No. 9 also makes it incredibly accessible for travelers. Being situated in Tal-Daund, Yavat, it attracts a steady flow of customers from both nearby towns and those passing through on long trips. The restaurant has become somewhat of a landmark for those who frequently take this route, and it's easy to see why. It's an ideal place to take a break, stretch your legs, and enjoy a satisfying meal.

With its focus on quality, comfort, and the authentic flavors of Maharashtra, Vitthal Kamat's stands as a testament to the enduring popularity of traditional Indian diners. It’s no wonder that it continues to receive praise from locals and visitors alike. The next time you find yourself in the area, make sure to stop by and experience the true essence of Maharashtrian hospitality. You won’t be disappointed!

  • Vitthal Kamat at Yawat, Pune, offers a pleasant dining experience with ample parking and a unique ambiance. We ordered the signature Vitthal Wada, dosa, wada sambar, dahi wada, and a veg cheese sandwich. The food was tasty, capturing the classic flavors Vitthal Kamat is known for. Service was prompt and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. While the washrooms were okay, they could benefit from more regular cleaning. The ambience felt distinct and refreshing compared to other restaurants, creating a relaxed environment perfect for a quick stop or leisurely meal. Highly recommended with family and friends

  • It was a great experience! We were 4 people and stopped here for breakfast. There was no rush. The kitchen is small and it’s open; you can get suffocated. We had medu wada which was decent; onion uttapam which was good. We also tried the Mysore masala dosa which might be the best one I had till now! The pav bhaji wasn’t fresh. It was a wrong decision to order it. The washrooms are very unclean. I just wonder how much bacteria would be in there! Overall the experience was nice and I recommend you all to stop here for breakfast in the morning. I don’t think so the main course would be fresh here. ——————————————————————

  • It is like any other restaurant at the highway. However, you get many variety of foods especially south indian dishes. The only observation was there were flies everywere. And bathrooms needs to keep spotless clean as it's a restaurant at highway.. rest all is fine.
